- Designing, managing and optimizing demand generation programs to meet lead and customer acquisition targets
- Selecting appropriate media, vendors and external resources
- Managing external resources (DM agency, SEO/SEM firm, etc.)
- Working with internal resources to guide the creation of lead generation campaigns, where appropriate
- Reporting routinely on the results of lead generation programs

NetBooks is seeking a demand generation expert for a director level position. If you have a strongly analytical approach to demand generation campaigns, and proven experience meeting lead gen and customer acquisition targets in the B2B or small business space, then we should definitely meet.

Duties and Responsibilities
The Director of Demand Generation will be responsible for managing and executing lead generation programs for NetBooks, including print, email and online.

Skills & Experience
The Director of Demand Generation must have proven experience meeting lead and customer generation targets in the B2B (preferably small business) space; an analytical approach to demand generation; strong written and verbal communication skills; and a demonstrated ability to work with inside and outside resources to deliver results on time and on budget.
Candidate should have seven to 10 years of relevant direct marketing or demand generation experience. Familiarity with small business software is desirable but not required.

Program design (20%)
The Director of Demand Generation will have primary responsibility for designing lead generation programs, including allocating assigned budget across programs, selecting targets and appropriate reach methods, designing offers and calls to action, setting individual program goals and designing in methods of measurement.
Program execution, measurement and optimization (20%)
The Director of Demand Generation is responsible for executing lead generation programs, measuring results (including response and conversion rates, landing pages, A/B splits, etc.) and optimizing program activities based on leading and trailing indicators.
Vendor Management (20%)
The Director of Demand Generation is responsible for evaluating, selecting and managing outside vendors that contribute to lead generation programs, including direct marketing agencies, copywriters, art directors, printers, email service providers, etc.
Program reporting and forecasting (15%)
The Director of Demand Generation will routinely report on program activities, ROI, and use of budget. In addition, the Demand Generation manager will provide forecasts for future customer acquisition and lead generation efforts.
Message Testing (10%)
The Director of Demand Generation will work with the marketing team to develop and test marketing messages and positioning statements.
Program Testing (10%)
The Director of Demand Generation will devote some program budget to select new lead gen channels and designing appropriate tests.
Other responsibilities, as assigned (5%)
The Director of Demand Generation will assist in the management and execution of other marketing or lead generation activities, as assigned by management and commensurate with capabilities and experience
